Handmade long beaded necklace made from antique Prosser beads. Necklace is strung on fine chain and has a gorgeous beaded tassel with metal cap adorned with vintage (1980's) Swar. rhinestones and glass beads.
Prosser beads are beads made by the "Prosser" technique (molding a cold paste under great pressure and then firing it). They look glossy as porcelain, have pronounced equatorial ridges created by mold seams and while one end is typically smooth and somewhat rounded the other end is flat and rougher. The beads used in these necklace were made by Bapterosses in Briare, France (1900-1940s).
